Once again, the SkateBIRD release date is on.

The game’s creator, Megan Fox, explained why in an update on the game’s Kickstarter page.In short, development takes time, especially during pandemics, and they’re planning on adding a full story mode. There will also be various cosmetics and music tracks to unlock. SkateBird, a nifty-looking avian skateboarding game revealed at a Nindies presentation last year, is unfortunately no longer slated for a Switch release in 2020. If you had to be convinced that Skatebird has a sense of humor, there’s even a bird named Sam King wearing Splinter Cell hero Sam Fisher’s iconic goggles. SkateBIRD will feature various bird-sized skate parks, with intuitive controls. Players will be able to chat up some of the other skatebirds in the game’s world for guidance on tricks, or just some good old-fashioned goofs.
Today’s trailer for Skatebird revealed what players will be able to do outside of tearing up some vert. Players will also be able to deck their birds out in different gear, whether it’s a helmet, some goggles, or a sick leather jacket.
